Thinking of the royal family, the first thing that comes to mind would be luxury and extravagance. However, for king Charles, that is not the case when it comes to food.

If you think the king’s favorite dish must be some delicates affordable only to the richest, that is not true. His favorite food is, believe it or not, boiled eggs. Ideally dish, according to him, is risotto with wild mushrooms and organic lamb. But there is one hack. He is eating risotto only with mushrooms from his own estate. And when he wants this dish, he takes his chefs to show them where the best mushrooms are. Besides this, his favorite meats are lamb and mutton.

There is even one dish that is forbidden to prepare. Fourteen years ago, every cook was informed that foa gra was not welcome at the court because king Charles disliked it. Foa gra is a luxurious French delicacy made from duck or goose liver. This dish is extremely fatty, with a rich flavor and a smooth texture.

King Charles is loyal to lamb, mutton, and boiled eggs, regardless of all the delicacies he is surrounded with.
